Membership & Pricing
What makes a Good Florist Guide member?
Our members come in all shapes and sizes. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to this movement. We welcome, encourage, and applaud the differences which make them unique, whether it’s a small, cosy shop in a rural village, or a large, bustling establishment in central London.
Turnovers can range from under £100k to well over a million. Many incredibly successful, big-name florists have become members because they believe in the concept and want to support and engage with an industry-led project, which proves that Good Florist Guide isn’t just about the certificate.
There are members who regularly appear on TV and also those who are more camera-shy but shine in different ways. What both parties have in common is that they create exquisite work. Whilst the majority of our florists have traditional shops – with a myriad of different aesthetics – we also have studio based florists offering both a full florist service and specialist wedding and event work.
And when it comes to location, we are UK wide. Not quite Land’s End to John O’Groats but perilously close!Â
Our members are total mix, which not only gives us a fabulous pool of ideas but represents the florist industry in every way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Not until you have been approved! Only when you have been voted in by the membership do we raise an invoice. For £140 (€160) + VAT – just £11.66 a month (just €13.20 a month).
Nope… GFG is about helping consumers have great flowers by promoting the best of our industry and giving florists a chance to use their membership and accreditation to generate PR and customer goodwill at a local level. We know that a lot of our GFG’ers contact each other when they need help with out of area orders but that is completely their choice and we are not involved at all.
Yes, but not because GFG is an order generator. GFG is a way of you showing your shop is better than the rest. If you use the fact you are a GFG member properly that in itself will generate orders by creating increased awareness about you and your shop.
We usually reckon about six weeks after you submit your application or are nominated, simply because it’s not something we like to rush and we will spend a lot of time on each one. The sooner you get your portfolio in, the sooner you’ll be assessed and if successful receive your Good Florist Guide logo.
Not at all! Professional studio florists are also very welcome and we have categories that match your services totally so you get the best out of your GFG membership. However, we do not accept applications from home workers… your business must comply with all legal requirements.
Absolutely not. We’ve been working with florist shops for decades and know that no one style is right or wrong. That’s why every type of shop is assessed in exactly the same way and to the same criteria. Modern, olde worlde, classic or completely off the wall, the basic rules of being a good florist apply.
No. You have to reapply every year and that’s why we issue dated logos. We are sure you will still be lovely next year but it’s a bit like an MOT… worth checking just to make sure.
Yes. If we discover a problem or feel the shop has fallen below the standard we are happy to promote then we won’t renew the accreditation and in exceptional circumstances will cancel an accreditation before the end of the year. Please view our Terms & Conditions for more details.
Being part of GFG means you’ll be the first port of call for any industry happenings that come our way and when we have ideas and campaigns we want to share. Our main thrust will be on social media and sharing your stories with our followers – be that via Facebook, Instagram or our website
Obviously we take them into account and we will be scrutinising your design work but we are assessing your business from a consumer perspective rather than as technical floristry judges. Therefore, we will be paying more attention to how the business looks, what your commercial designs look like and how your website works than whether you’ve used the right gauge wire.
A few, such as the ways you can use the GFG logo and what we would expect you to do in the event of a complaint. However we don’t do ‘heavy’ simply because anyone who is a GFG person is usually on the same wavelength as us.
Pretty crucial. We don’t need them to be of studio quality but they do have to be more than phone camera snaps. You are showcasing your work so the more effort you can put into it the better. However we don’t need prints, you can upload them easily via our online application form. If you’re not sure of the best way to do it, just give us a call and we’ll help you out.
Yes, each additional branch must apply in their own right be charged at the discounted rate of £95.
If you don’t pass we let you know if we think there are things you could improve to change the result and then re-evaluate your application.
Of course! We can’t see any reason why they should object.
