Portishead,
North Somerset
Sarah has always been one to spot an opportunity. Her career began at Fowlers florist in Portishead High Street and after demonstrating a flair for floral arrangements, she studied floristry for three years at Plymouth College of Art. After college Sarah went travelling and her artistic ability earned her a job on the other side of the world where she was invited to help at the legendary spring flower show in Sydney.
She is well known for her exquisite gift flowers and her premises in Portishead High Street allows her to sell every day flowers, as well as her famous gift bouquets. She also has plans to sell pot plants, bedding plants and silk flowers. In addition, candles and quality gifts will line the shelves. Sarah added: “I am listening to what my customers want and I am trying to meet their needs wherever I can. From a bunch of daffs to full banqueting flowers”, Sarah Tynan Flowers aims to serve the whole community and beyond.” Abridged from the North Somerset Times.

Diana Kaye Florist was established nearly 40 years ago. Opening their first store in the vibrant cobbled Town of Yarm, our aim was to become the leading flowering gift specialist in the North of England. 40 years later we are still following our ethos and have not only won many awards, including “Flower Shop of the Year” but have a concession in Fenwicks Newcastle and this gorgeous second shop in West Gilling’s old Post Office! All our floral and plant designs are made in our stores by expert florists with years of experience and a true passion for flowers and we deliver across the Northeast … and always with a smile!! We also take our environmental responsibilities seriously and not only source as many locally grown flowers as we can but minimise our impact further by using biodegradable packaging And if you don’t see what you are looking for on our web site just call or email … if it’s in season we can help … the beauty of our business is we can adapt any design to your preferences with very little notice.
Weymouth,
Dorset
Located in Dorset, the multi award winning Floral Couture by Jay is a purveyor of fine British floristry from the esteemed Jay Creech. Dorset born and bred, Jay has a lifelong fascination with flowers which began in his childhood. His passion was inherited from his grandad when as a child, the two would spend hours planting and growing flowers. Seeing how each bloom can affect emotions and moods piqued Jay’s interest in floristry. Known for his charm, warmth and enthusiasm, Jay combines his instinctive knowledge with natural-born creativity to produce breathtaking arrangements. Alongside his innate ability, Jay has also studied the art of floristry and has a wealth of experience and qualifications. Not content with resting on his laurels (pun intended!), he is always seeking ways to progress and develop his talent
Clayton-le-Moors,
Lancashire
Open All Flowers aka ‘the fussy florist’ started life in 1992 in Clayton le Moors, we pride ourselves on being true professionals within our industry. We are wedding and funeral floristry specialists and our cornerstone is, it’s the flowers we dont/won’t use that makes the difference. If it doesn’t measure up we simply don’t buy it/won’t use it, once you visit our website or call our shop personally you will realise there are florists (people who sell flowers) and there are FLORISTS (people who love and adore flowers, who are skilled professionals in their trade and know how to use every bloom to it’s maximum potential, we are cemented permanently into the latter. We have been involved with the Good Florist Guide since it’s inception and are of the belief that this accreditation is a kite mark for our industry and we are proud to be included within it. Try us, you will love us.
Ashtead,
Surrey
Established in 1996 Thistles florist was originally in a High Street location. In order to offer a more bespoke service the business is now run from my home studio which allows more flexibility to my clients and I can offer home visits and out of hour’s consultations. Clients are welcome to visit my studio in Ashtead to talk through their requirements by appointment or orders can be placed on my website or by telephone. Even after many years in the industry it is important to me to keep up with new varieties & trends and offer my clients the best quality products and produce designs to the highest standard. I am a perfectionist and passionate about Floristry. I like to use British Flowers and foliage where possible and compost all my green waste and all my cardboard packing is recycled. Clients will often ask me to include plant material from their own garden in a design, which I am happy to do as it allows my work to be different; I will often add something from my own garden or pick grasses to give my work a quirky twist to stand out from the crowd.
